Filmmaker, Comedian and Actress
Yola Lu is a comedian, writer and actress based out of Austin, TX. She is the co-founder of the all Asian American improv troupe, Y'all We Asian, and they've performed at the San Francisco Sketchfest, the Del Close Marathon, Out of Bounds Festival and won the Austin Chronicle's “Best of Austin's Critics Pick”, as well as winners of two B. Iden Payne awards. She has also created a web series in 2018 that can be found on YouTube called 'uncomfortable'. Recently, she starred in a feature film called "Night on Sixth" that premiered at the Austin Asian American Film Festival. Yola is currently working on a short film true to her experiences called I Love Patsy, that is in post production now. You can catch Yola performing with her troupes, Garage, every Thursday at 8pm at the Fallout Theater, and with Y’all We Asian every first Friday of the month at 8pm, as well as hosting Live at ColdTowne, a stand up showcase every Saturday at 10pm at ColdTowne Theater.
