About me

Anna is a Vietnamese American transgender woman, software engineer, longtime Austinite, runway model, and activist for LGBTQiA+ and human rights causes.  She serves as president on the all-volunteer working board of PFLAG Austin.

Anna organizes the TGQ Social, a large monthly social gathering for the gender diverse community in Austin, TX, currently in its tenth year.  She also administers several LGTBQiA+ related Facebook groups and pages.  She has won many honors for her leadership and advocacy: the 2019 LGBT Female Grand Marshal of Austin Pride, the 2018 Daughters of Bilitis award by Queer Women in Leadership, and the Austin Chronicle's 2016 "Top Ten Queer Heroes".

Anna grew up in Saigon, Vietnam, fled to England as a war refugee, lived in NYC for many years, and settled in Austin in 1992, where she lives today with her wife of 36 years.  Assigned male at birth, Anna started her gender journey in 2013.
